Okay, that was a line from a movie, but it is still relevant! I'm sure everyone has read a quote about persistence and how important it is. Well, it is.
Let's talk about how easy it is to just give up.
Your brain is wired to protect you from things that make you feel uncomfortable and it will do anything and everything possible to make you stay in your comfort zone. Unfortunately no growth has every happened inside a comfort zone and when you want to make a change and step outside of your comfort zone, your brain starts giving you signals that what you are doing is not right. "Hello, self-doubt! Hello, small-voice-saying-you-aren't-good-enough!"
And then you just stop because your brain justifies it.
This is where persistence comes in. You need to make "Persistence" your home town and just keep going. One small step at a time. Day by day, choose to push through and be persistent. You might not see the result on the first day but after many days there will be a difference in whatever it is you set out to do.
So, when someone asks "Hey, where did you come from?" you can confidently say "A little town called Persistence, baby!"
